Comedian Kapil Sharma donates Rs 50 lakhs to Prime Minister’s relief fund to fight Coronavirus

Kapil Sharma recently announced that he has donated Rs 50 lakhs to the Prime Minister's relief fund set up to fight against the Coronavirus. The comedian took to his Instagram page to announce about the donation and also urged people to stay home to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

He wrote, “It's time to stand together with the ones who need us. Contributing Rs.50 lakhs to the PM relief fund towards the #fightagainstcorona.” (sic)

Earlier, in another Instagram post, Kapil had asked people to help daily-wage workers. He asked his followers to sponsor ration bags for the daily-wage earners who have been severely affected by the lockdown. He wrote, “I whole heartily support this noble initiative. Happy to contribute for this humanitarian cause.” (sic)

Tollywood superstars including Ram Charan, Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan have also donated to the government’s relief funds to fight COVID-19. Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan extended a helping hand and provided N95 masks to the BMC workers and caretakers.
