Watch: Coming from somebody sitting at such a huge position, it was disheartening, I did feel bad, I won’t deny: Hina Khan on her Cannes controversy

Television actress Hina Khan wowed everyone with her Cannes debut this year. She looked amazing walking the red carpet and was a vision of grace, elegance and poise. Among all the Indian actresses who were at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival 2019, she was the only one with a valid reason- the launch of the first look of her Bollywood film Lines. However, her debut was also mired in controversy as a noted film magazine editor wrote a very nasty remark about Hina’s TV background and ridiculed her for it, but he was nicely shut down by a lot of TV actors as well as Farah Khan, Ekta Kapoor and Rangoli Chandel who came to Hina’s support.

In a recent interview with an eminent film journalist, Hina opened up about the controversial remark and poured her heart out. She said, “Coming from somebody sitting at such a huge position, it was disheartening. I did feel bad, I won’t deny. I did feel that it was not necessary. You really work hard to reach where you want to reach. You got to do something in life to be here.” Watch her here talking about the issue:

However, talking about the support that she got from her television industry she further added, “The kind of support I got from my industry, from Farah ma’am tweeting for me, Rajeev Masand tweeting for me, a lot of people coming out to support me that I had tears in my eyes and I broke down.”

Hina’s upcoming film Lines is expected to release in August 2019.
