Karanvir Bohra, Ekta Kapoor and other TV celebrities support Hina Khan after a senior journalist mocks her Cannes red carpet appearance

Karanvir Bohra, Ekta Kapoor, Gauahar Khan, Mrunal Thakur and several other stars came in support of television turned Bollywood actress Hina Khan when Filmfare editor Jitesh Pillai mocked her for her debut red carpet appearance at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival. It all started when Hina made a glamorous appearance at the red carpet on May 16. The actress looked stunning and grabbed several eyeballs. Jitesh posted a picture of Hina from the red carpet on his Instagram story and captioned it as, "Cannes has suddenly become Chandivali studios kya?". This did not go down well with several fans of Hina and her television gang.

Bigg Boss star Karanvir Bohra was quick enough to call out Jitesh and his "snide remark" on Hina. He posted a screenshot of Jitesh's story and captioned it as, "I'm appalled at this insta story of @jiteshpillaai Maybe, you had things ready for you maybe you didn't have a humble beginning, maybe you did....but I think hobnobbing with the gliterati you have forgotten your roots. This is the same chandivali studios where @iamsrk sir #naseeruddinshahsir @anupampkher ji @ektaravikapoor@sushantsinghrajput have come up the hard way and made a name for themselves. We all are very proud of @realhinakhan and for this achievement. We all are with you girl. And #jiteshpillai If you can't say anything nice pls be gracious to not pass such snide remarks."

Ekta tweeted "Hina we r so proud of u".

Hiten Tejwani and Vikas Gupta defended the actress on Twitter.

For the unversed, the Cannes Film Festival will premiere Hina’s Bollywood debut film Lines. The film is directed by Hussain Khan and produced by Rahat Kazmi, Tariq Khan, and Zeba Sajid along with Jayant Jaiswal. Lines is a tragic love story set in Kashmir during the times of Kargil war.
