Seems like Star Plus has become very fond of actor Karan Wahi; all thanks to his recent stint in singing reality show – The Voice. Apparently, the channel is keen on signing him for one of the pivotal roles in the reboot version of Kasautii Zindagii Kay. However, producer Ekta Kapoor doesn’t seem to be much impressed by the actor.
A little birdie informed us, “Recently, Karan had replaced Divyanka Tripathi in The Voice since the actress was busy with her personal commitments. Looking at Karan’s stint, the channel is keen in signing him as Mr. Bajaj’s role in KZK2. In fact, they have auditioned him too for the same. But on the other hand, Ekta is still in double mind of casting Karan as Mr. Bajaj. She is looking for a mature actor to play this iconic character.”
Our source further added, “The recent stint of Komolika (played by Hina Khan) had managed to garner good TRP ratings for the channel and these great numbers has come with more responsibilities. Obviously, Ekta doesn’t want to take a chance and she is making sure to cast someone who can match up to Ronit Roy (who played Mr. Bajaj in season one). The hunt is still on and so far Ekta’s favorite Hiten Tejwani and Siddharth Shukla and Ronit Roy are still on her wish list. Even Barun Sobti's name is in the running.”
We tried contacting Karan to confirm this news, he remained unavailable to comment.
