Box Office: Hrithik Roshan’s and Tiger Shroff’s ‘War’ is on a rampage, Chiranjeevi’s ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ and Joaquin Phoenix’s ‘Joker’ continue their golden run

Hrithik Roshan’s and Tiger Shroff’s War is on a rampage at the box office. The film witnessed a record Monday collection as the film collected a massive Rs 21.50 crore nett (Hindi – Rs 20.60 Cr and Tamil & Telugu -Rs 0.90 Cr) on a working day with reduced ticket rates that happens on weekdays. This means the footfalls of War on Monday (6th day of release) was higher than the footfalls it registered on Friday (3rd day)!

In the 6 days since its release, War has collected a massive Rs 187.75 crore at the box office and is all set to cross the Rs 200 crore mark in mere 7 days. The film is an action spectacle and is being loved by the audience. Produced by Yash Raj Films, War made history as it collected Rs 53.35 crore nett - the biggest ever opening for a Hindi film!

On the other hand, Chiranjeevi and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy has also received overwhelming praise and love from the audiences as well as the critics. The mega-budget period drama produced by Ram Charan and directed by Surender Reddy has performed particularly well in the Southern regions. The film was released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy fared well on Monday as well as over the extended weekend. According to reports, the film raked in Rs 7.2 crore at the box office worldwide and is expected to collect Rs 124.80 crore worldwide by the end of the fifth day. Globally, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy fetched the third biggest opening ever for a Tollywood film and the fifth-highest for a South Indian film. Apart from Chiranjeevi and Amitabh, the film also stars Nayanthara, Tamannaah, Kichcha Sudeep, Vijay Sethupathi and Jagapathi Babu in prominent roles.

Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker has been receiving praise from all quarters- the critics as well as the audience. The film is also doing exceptionally well at the box office. Directed by Todd Phillips the film is an original spinoff and chronicles the life of Arthur Fleck before he famously becomes the Clown Prince of Crime. Despite stiff competition from War the film has found its audience in the niche metro audience.

The film has managed to rake in Rs 4.25 crore on its sixth day at the box office and has managed to collect a total of Rs 27.75 crore in six days since its release. Besides Phoenix, the film also features Robert De Niro, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.
