Box Office: Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Kabir Singh’ inches towards Rs 250 crore, becomes 2019’s highest earner beating URI’s lifetime collection

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s directorial Kabir Singh starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani might have received some flak for its misogynistic and violent portrayal but the film is going great guns at the box office. With every passing day the film is breaking and creating box office records. The film grossed approximately Rs 247 crore within 20 days and went on to beat Ranveer Singh's highest solo earner, Rohit Shetty's Simmba, that too when Simmba was a year-end holiday release whereas Kabir Singh was a non-holiday release. Now, the film on its 20th day has managed to surpass the lifetime collection of Vicky Kaushal’s and Yami Gautam’s URI: The Surgical Strike.

Kabir Singh is swiftly inching towards Rs 250 crore mark with trade pundits expecting it to cross Rs 300 crore. Kabir Singh has also surpassed lifetime collection of Salman Khan’s Bharat. Shahid is on cloud nine as his performance has been much appreciated and the audiences feel that it is his best performance ever. It has become the highest grossing film of 2019 and is still going strong at the theatres.
