Box Office: On Day 1 ‘PM Narendra Modi’ biopic and ‘India’s Most Wanted’ off to a decent start; ‘De De Pyaar De’ does steady business even after a week

This Friday two Bollywood films were released- India’s Most Wanted and PM Narendra Modi biopic. India’s Most Wanted starring Arjun Kapoor in the lead and directed by Raj Kumar Gupta recorded a decent start at the box office. The film opened at Rs 2.10 crores on Friday. It struggled during the day but eventually picked up a little towards the fag end of the evening.

India’s Most Wanted has got a fair review and Arjun’s performance has been appreciated by the critics. Hopefully, the film will pick up and garner a good number at the box office in the coming days.

On the other hand, Vivek Oberoi starrer PM Narendra Modi biopic that was supposed to release in April was banned by the Election Commission as the organization felt the film obstructs ‘the level playing ground’ of the parties during election campaigning and subsequent elections. Now, the film finally released yesterday and apparently has taken a decent start.

PM Narendra Modi biopic garnered Rs 2.88 crore on Day 1 and as the day progressed the film witnessed better occupancy. The film is expected to do good business at the box office. The film is based on the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet and Tabu starrer De De Pyaar De has maintained its run at the theatres despite the new releases. The film completed its first-week run and has become the audience’s favoured choice. It has garnered a cool Rs 64.63 crores till now and looks to continue its run in the second week as well.
