Box Office: Avengers: Endgame inches towards Rs 250 crore on Day 6; Kalank fails to live up to expectations

Avengers: Endgame, which released in India on April 26, was one of the most awaited films of 2019 and has broken box office numbers both in India and worldwide. The film is not only a direct sequel to Avengers: Infinity War, it's the culmination of the previous 20-plus titles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as well. As per reports, the film enjoyed a historic Wednesday at the box-office and collected Rs 28 crore nett approx, which is the highest ever Wednesday collection barring Sultan and Ek Tha Tiger. Not to forget, the other two films had a Wednesday release so it was their first day.

The total collections of Avengers: Endgame now stand at around Rs 245 crore nett approx, which means it has done more business than any Hindi film this year in just six days. The box-office collection on Day 6 were helped by the holiday of May Day, which is a partial holiday.

On the other hand, Kalank starring Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, and Kunal Kemmu, has failed to create an impact on the audience. Although the Abhishek Varman directorial became the highest opener of 2019 with a collection of Rs 21.60 crore, Kalank collected only about 74 crore at the domestic box office in its first week. Moving further, the film minted very less amount at the box-office and has failed to enter Rs 100 crore club by the end of its second week.
