Sonam Kapoor and Anil Kapoor starrer Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga released today to generally favourable reviews from the film critics and the audience as well. Although the film had created quite a buzz amongst the audience it did not generate too much in the morning shows. The film has taken a low opening of 5-7.5% which is pretty much on the expected lines considering its niche subject. However, it will have to buckle up and translate into moolah in the evening shows to post a healthy number at the box office.
The film’s subject line is such that it will appeal to a select section of the metro audience. The film’s low turnout can also be attributed to the fact that it had low marketing and promotions. Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga also stars Rajkummar Rao, Juhi Chawla, Regina Cassandra and Abhishek Duhan.

On the other hand, Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi which released last week is holding its ground at the box office. The film has amassed a total of Rs 61.15 crore at the box office. The film has been surrounded by controversies but that has not deterred the audience from giving thumbs up to the historical.

Based on the life of Rani Laxmi Bai the film also stars Ankita Lokhande, Danny Denzongpa, Suresh Oberoi, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, Nihaar Pandya and Jisshu Sengupta in pivotal roles.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s and Amrita Rao’s Thackeray has fared poorly at the box office with the Hindi version collecting Rs 15 crore in week one and the Marathi version collecting around Rs 10 crore. It has amassed a total of Rs 31.60 crore.

Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike is going super strong on its fourth Friday at the box office and will give all the films a tough run-for-their-money and will emerge as the top of the lot. It is expected to cross Rs 175 crore in its fourth weekend.

Ranveer Singh’s and Sara Ali Khan’s Simmba that released on the last Friday of 2018 has done a tremendous business till date. It has collected a cool Rs 239.88 crore. However, now the film is finally losing its steam and will eventually make way for the new releases.
It's going to be a three-way street as ELKDTAL, Manikarnika and URI will eventually fight it out at the box office in the days to come.
