Box Office: John Abraham's Parmanu-The Story of Pokhran marches on, Alia's Raazi is unstoppable

Parmanu-The Story of Pokhran is an ode to India’s unsung heroes who ensured that the government can do the nuclear tests successfully. The film which faced a legal battle between the producers is raking in moolah at the box office, clocking Rs 3.48 crore on Wednesday, and taking its India Box Office tally till date to Rs 32.17 crores. On the other hand, Alia Bhatt's Raazi is going great and has fetched a whopping Rs 108.04 crores.

Parmanu-The Story of Pokhran opened to critical acclaim and an extremely positive and strong word-of-mouth which drew huge number of audience to the theatres. The film has sustained itself and maintained a strong Box Office performance since its release. The film has been loved by the audience even though it overcame a whole lot of hurdles like an erratic promotional campaign, a legal battle, the holy month of Ramadan, Indian Premier League semi-finals on its release date and finals on Sunday, but it has still managed to hang in there with good footfalls and a good number. The film has fetched a total of Rs 32.17 crores at the Indian box office.

The film is based on the efforts of the Indian Army, scientists, bureaucrats, intelligence agencies and others who worked tirelessly to ensure that the nation becomes a nuclear state. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, Parmanu-The Story of Pokhran stars John Abraham, Diana Penty and Boman Irani and is produced by JA Entertainment, Kyta Productions and Zee Studios.

On the other hand, Alia Bhatt’s Raazi is not looking to stop its golden run at the box office any time soon. The film is in its third week and has already fetched a great sum Rs 108.04 crores.

Besides Alia, the film stars Vicky Kaushal, Soni Razdan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Rajit Kapoor and is directed by Meghna Gulzar. Raazi is based on Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat and follows the life of a young girl who turn spy at great personal risk to her life during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971.
