Judwaa 2 joins 100cr club, while Newton earns 18.92 crores

Just five years in Bollywood and Varun Dhawan he is turning to be baap of blockbusters. This young actor has given his eighth consecutive hit with Judwaa 2, the latest comedy flick that is turning out to be his second biggest hit of 2017 after Badrinath Ki Dulhania. According to box-office numbers, the film has reached the 100 cr mark in its first week alone.
While the movie received a lot of negative critic reviews, the positive word of mouth helped it to record good collections in the weekend. The film collected approximately Rs 59 crore in its three days run at the Box Office. The master of comedies, David Dhawan, has delivered a total family entertainer this festive season which has shattered records at the box office.
Varun says, “It is extremely heartening when you receive so much love. As an actor, you always have to entertain people. With Judwaa 2 our objective was to give everyone a very good time in the theatres where they laugh their hearts out.”
On an opening day, Judwaa 2 surpassed Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal and gained the third spot in the list of the highest openers of 2017.
Rajkummar Rao’s Newton has had a successful run at the Box Office for two weeks now. The film directed by Amit. V.Masurkar in theaters on September 22 and has managed to earn Rs. 18.92 crore. The film narrates the story of a rookie government clerk, who is sent to a Naxal-controlled town in Chhattisgarh to conduct free and fair elections.
On the other hand, Sanjay Dutt's Bhoomi and Shraddha Kapoor's Haseena Parkar tanked at the Box Office.
