Bigg Boss 14: Re-entries, evictions and biasness; 10 things we DON'T wish to watch in the 15th edition of the reality show

Bigg Boss 14 started in the times of COVID-19 and promised to keep fans entertained through a difficult phase. The tagline stated ‘Ab Scene Paltega’ and it did happen. The makers roped in different concepts, tasks and in-house amenities for the contestants.

Rubina Dilaik, Aly Goni, Rakhi Sawant, Nikki Tamboli and Rahul Vaidya are in the finale week and are racing forwards the trophy. The finale will be held on February 21 and then, the buzz around Bigg Boss 15 will do the rounds of social media. While the 14th season was filled with twists, there are certain things the viewers don’t want to see in the next edition. Take a look:

Toofani Seniors:

Bigg Boss 14 started on a rather unique note. Promising that scene paltega, the makers roped in former contestants, Sidharth Shukla, Gauahar Khan and Hina Khan to mentor and guide the new participants for the first 14 days. They were called toofani seniors. In an attempt to make the season juicy and spicy, the makers hoped Sidharth, Gauahar and Hina will add flavours to the show. They did live up to the expectation to an extent.

But, it was slightly difficult for the new contestants to shine under their light. The ‘freshers’ barely got a chance to showcase their potential and their game started only after Sidharth, Gauahar and Hina left. Well, though it was a delight to watch Sidharth, Gauahar and Hina in Bigg Boss once again, this move seemed unnecessary to avid watchers.

Biasness:

Well, it is a fact that host Salman Khan was biased to quite a few contestants. While it was never said out loud and clear, but slight gestures and remarks made it obvious. Every weekend, instead of correcting contestants and showing them the mirror, Salman focused on bashing a few housemates repeatedly, like Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla. The audience, including some industry wallahs, slammed Salman for his partiality towards Eijaz Khan, Rakhi Sawant and Aly Goni.

Well, all we can hope is Salman remains fair to everyone henceforth.

Unfair evictions:

Bigg Boss 14 had many unfair evictions. In the second week, Sidharth Shukla, Gauahar Khan and Hina Khan were given the power to eliminate one contestant who didn’t deserve to be in the show. While the actresses named Rahul, Sidharth convinced them that Sara Gurpal was an undeserving participant. Just on this basis, the Punjabi actress had to end her journey in a few days. Days later, Shehnaz Deol was shown the door as he got voted out by the housemates and the three seniors. Nishant Singh Malkani was asked to exit on the basis of housemates' votes.

After spending 129 days in the house, Abhinav Shukla’s fate wasn’t decided by his fans but by the connections of the housemates. He was a potential finalist but evictions this season were according to the whims and fancies of the makers.

Exit and re-entry:

Bigg Boss 14 was to end in the first week of January but the channel sanctioned an extension just to incorporate multiple exits and entries. After the three seniors left the house, Naina Singh, Shardul Pandit and Kavita Kaushik were brought in as wild-cards. After Kavita was voted out by the audience, the makers got her back. Later, she walked out of the show.

Aly Goni, who is now a finalist, participated in the show as Jasmin Bhasin’s pillar of support. He came in the fourth week of Bigg Boss 14. Days later, he voluntarily stepped back to save Jasmin in a task. Soon, on public demand, the Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actor returned with a bang.

Contestants like Nikki Tamboli, Rahul Vaidya and Vikas Gupta also re-entered the show. Well, it did get tiring for the audience to keep up with evictions and re-entries.

Harassment in the name of entertainment:

Physical fights and abuses are common in Bigg Boss. However, the 14th season was slightly different from the previous ones. In the name of entertainment, contestants like Rakhi Sawant crossed the line of decency frequently. Sugarcoating it with entertainment, the actress went on to pull the strings of Abhinav Shukla’s shorts, wrote his name all over her body and also ripped Rahul Mahajan’s dhoti.

It’s high time the makers stop encouraging such acts just for TRP and ‘entertainment’.

Mid-season finale:

‘Ab scene paltega’ was the tagline of Bigg Boss 14 and indeed it happened. The housemates were alerted about a ‘fake’ finale just to introduce 6 Challengers aka former contestants.

We wish the makers bury this idea right away!

Dark secrets:

During a task for an immunity stone, Bigg Boss asked the contestants to reveal personal secrets that nobody knew. From Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla’s troubled relationship to Eijaz Khan’s problem with touch, deep secrets were out in the open. However, the housemates who wished to talk about it were targetted, bullied and even slammed by others.

Truly, Bigg Boss house isn’t for the weak-hearted but asking contestants to reveal personal secrets was simply uncalled for.

Personal topics

It is an unsaid rule that personal topics aren’t to be mentioned in Bigg Boss but some contestants refused to take it into consideration. Vikas Gupta, on multiple occasions, revealed that Arshi Khan has been threatening and blackmailing him. Not just this, Kavita Kaushik hinted that she knew a secret about Abhinav Shukla.

TRP ke liye kuch bhi karega!

No more extensions

The housemates, as well as the audience, were promised that Bigg Boss 14 will come to an end after 105 days. We were assured that due to COVID-19, there won’t be any extension. But it seems the makers were ‘aadat se majboor’. Hoping to replicate the success of Bigg Boss 13, the channel gave a month’s extension to the season.

Towards the end, the audience and contestants started losing patience.

Cheap tricks for entertainment

From vulgar words to below-the-belt activities, the audience doesn’t really need more filth on television. Bigg Boss is meant for entertainment but not ‘cheaptainment’.
