If you are a fan of Kapil Sharma, this news update will make you really very happy as the comedian is all set to make his comeback on television with The Kapil Sharma Show and it will be produced by none other than Salman Khan, a leading website reports. The Kapil Sharma Show went off air in 2017 after the TRPs dropped drastically following the comedian’s mid-air fight with then co-star Sunil Grover.

Kapil, as per the report, was unable to convince producers to support his show and that is when Salman stepped in as sources said that the new season of the comedy series will be produced under the 52-year-old actor’s banner.

Sources told the daily that the channel on which the show will be aired intends to retain the star cast of The Kapil Sharma Show in the new series as well. Ali Asgar, Upasna Singh, Chandan Prabhakar, Sugandha Mishra and Rochelle Rao, who were part of the show, have been approached for the new season but their response is awaited. On the other hand, Sumona Chakravarti, Kiku Sharda and Bharti Singh have agreed to do the show.

The show, according to the report, is expected to premiere in January 2019 as the channel wants to ensure its perfect execution instead of rushing into things. The format of the show will be the same as before as celebrities will make an appearance on it to promote their films or other projects.

Sources, in fact, also told the website that Kapil intends to reunite with Sunil for the show and has been requesting him to oblige. Sunil hasn’t provided any official confirmation as yet since he is busy shooting films.

Kapil and Sunil witnessed major fallout after the former allegedly assaulted him physically on a flight in February 2017. Apology statements were issued by Kapil but Sunil ended up quitting The Kapil Sharma Show. TRPs subsequently crashed and reports of Kapil cancelling shoots with celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn also proved fatal for the show – following which The Kapil Sharma Show went off air.

Kapil, soon after, was diagnosed with depression and after a few months, made a comeback on television with Family Time With Kapil Sharma. However, the show went off air after a few episodes due to negative ratings.
