Actor Irrfan Khan, who is currently undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with a rare disease, will soon be seen on the silver screen again in his Hollywood flick, titled Puzzle. The film which also features Scottish actress, Kelly Macdonald, will hit the screens on July 13.
After the trailer, which released in April, the poster of the film is finally out and captures the essence of the film just right. The story follows Kelly Macdonald's character, Agnes who lives a monotonous, mundane life but her life finds a purpose when she puts together a jigsaw puzzle for the first time as an adult. Her desire to solve even more puzzles leads her to Irrfan’s Robert where the two enroll in a competition solving jigsaw puzzles. However, Agnes husband, Louie, played by David Denman, finds the idea quite childish.
“Life is messy. There is nothing we can do to control anything,” as Irrfan’s character says this in the trailer it gives a feeling that all the puzzle pieces in this film are going to fit in the right place.
Earlier in an interview, the actor had said, “If you keep doing similar things, you get bored. So it’s better that you find a new subject and find yourself something fresh to keep the journey exciting.”
Puzzle made its debut at the recently held Sundance Film Festival, where it received good reviews. It was then bought instantly by Sony Pictures for a worldwide release. Irrfan has given a number of notable performances in Hollywood films such as The Life of Pi, Inferno, The Amazing Spiderman, Jurassic World, etc.
Directed by Marc Turtletaub and written by Oren Moverman, Puzzle is the English language remake of the 2010 Argentinian film of the same name.
