Taking the legacy forward, newlywed Pernia Qureshi brings an old-world charm in to her heirloom lehenga, restores her mother’s wedding outfit

There is something about heirloom outfits; they give a vintage vibe and honour the sentimental values which are in the family for generations. For her reception in Mumbai, hosted on October 8, entrepreneur and newlywed Pernia Qureshi decided to take the nostalgic route and donned an ethereal heirloom lehenga.

Pernia created the magic with her mother’s wedding lehenga that was hand-stitched by her grandmother…talk about taking the legacy forward. She restored her mother’s awadhi farshi gharara from the House of Kotwara. This 30-year-old lehenga featured vibrant colours, intricate details and surreal embroidery. A sheer orange dupatta perfectly blended with her resplendent red couture. Bridal goals, everyone!

Pearl and jewel-encrusted rani haar, bejewelled choker, all eyes on me matha-patti and a statement-making nath from Amrapali jewels added on to the vintage affair.

Qureshi opted for a high glam with winged eyes, crimson red lips and oodles of highlighter. Contrary to her other wedding looks, Pernia opted for a classic tied bun to round off her look.
