Twitteratis demand a ban on Saif Ali Khan's Tandav for allegedly 'insulting' Hindu Gods; show's IMDb rating suffers

Saif Ali Khan's recently released web series Tandav opened to a mixed response by critics and audience alike. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the nine episodes series released on January 15 on Amazon Prime Video. Soon after its release, the show has been facing backlash on social media for allegedly insulting Hindu Gods. 

A section of Twitteratis has taken offense over a scene where Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub, a stage performer, is modelled on Lord Shiva with a Trishul in his hand. He is seen addressing the audience and is heard saying, "Azaadi, what the...?" Netizens, who watched Tandav, accused the show of 'insulting' Hindu Gods and slammed it for its alleged 'Hinduphobic' nature. Many of them demanded a ban on the series and trended the hashtag 'Boycott Tandav'.

Due to this, the IMDb rating of Tandav has been affected. A section of Twitter went ahead to ask people to give it a poor rating.
