Sonu Sood emerged as a messiah for migrant workers in India when he started to send stranded people home to their native towns by arranging buses and trains for them in the wake of the Coronavirus induced pandemic and subsequent lockdown. People hailed him for his exemplary work and started calling him the real hero. Now, the actor appeared on Neha Dhupia’s show No Filter Neha Season 5 and spoke about how he managed to do the impossible. He also shared emotional and heartfelt incidents during the time he was sending the migrants home.
Talking about how he managed to send all those stranded people home, Sonu said, “Neha, I remember when we saw those visuals of all those migrants you know walking in millions, across the country, I think everyone was disturbed by seeing those visuals and I remember when we were giving food to almost 45,000 people every day. Sonu also spoke about the 78,000 calls that he received on his toll-free number in an hour and said, ‘When we started this thing, we started on my own.
