Alia Bhatt-Sanjay Dutt's 'Sadak 2' to 'Masaba Masaba: 7 new films and series to binge-watch on OTT this week!

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, theatres are shut for the past five months. With this, people confined to their homes are resorting to the web for their weekly entertainment. In the wake of this, popular OTT platforms are leaving no stone unturned to deliver great content to movie buffs who are missing watching films on the big screen. As content has now come home, platforms like Sony LIV, Disney+Hotstar, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, ZEE5, ALT Balaji, MX Player and many others opening the window for entertainment. 

Adding to the delight, major OTT platforms are releasing some much-awaited films and shows this week. From the web series Masaba Masaba and Aashram to films like Sadak 2, the audience is surely in for an amazing week. Take a look at the seven new films and series releasing this week.

Sadak 2 The Road To Love: Disney+ Hotstar | August 28, 2020

Sadak 2 marks the directorial comeback of Mahesh Bhatt. The film orbits around Ravi (Sanjay Dutt), Aryaa (Alia Bhatt) and Vishal (Aditya Roy Kapur) who are on the sadak to discovering dark secrets of a menacing Godman while avenging the loss of a dear one. In pursuit of justice, they endanger their lives when the Godman makes up his mind to kill the young girl for crossing his path. Sadak 2 also features Gulshan Grover, Jisshu Sengupta, Priyanka Bose, Akshay Anand and Mohan Kapur in supporting roles. 

 

Ram Singh Charlie: SonyLIV | August 28, 2020 

Featuring Kumud Mishra and Divya Dutta, Ram Singh Charlie, the film is about Ramsingh, a Charlie Chaplin impersonator who makes a living by performing in a travelling circus. However, he has to balance his responsibilities as a father and that of a performer. In the journey, he realises what he wants to do.

 

All Together Now: Netflix | August 28, 2020

Featuring Auli'i Cravalho, Justina Machado and Rhenzy Feliz, All Together Now is about a teen with her sights set on attending Carnegie Mellon University. However, she has a secret hidden. Directed by Brett Haley, the film is based on Matthew Quick's book Sorta Like A Rockstar. 

Unknown Origins: Netflix | August 28, 2020 

Netflix's description for Unknown Origins featuring Javier Rey, Verónica Echegui and Brays Efe reads 'a very chiseled but somber detective must find a serial killer who leaves clues that only his mentor's nerdy comics-loving son can decipher'.

Bebaakee: AltBalaji and ZEE5 | 30th August 2020 

With Kushal Tandon, Shiv Jyoti Rajput and Karan Jotwani in the lead, Bebaakee is about two best friends Sufiyaan and Imtiyaz, who are like blood brothers. Their lives are turned upside down when the fall in love with the same girl, Kainaat. The show will premiere on ALT Balaji and ZEE5. Bebaakee also stars Pratik Sehajpal, Ishaan Dhawan, Mahir Pandhi, Saloni Vora, Aditi Vats, and Juhaina Ahsan, the show features other senior actors like Krutika Desai, Suchitra Pillai, Ananya Khare, Mohit Chauhan, Sameer Malhotra, and Indraneel Bhattacharya

Masaba Masaba: Netflix | 28th August 2020 

Masaba Masaba, as the title suggests, revolves around ace fashion designer Masaba Gupta's personal and professional life. Starring Masaba and her mother Neena Gupta, the Netflix series will dive deep into the contrasting lives the former lives. Directed by Sonam Nair, the series is produced by Ashvini Yardi of Viniyard Films. Masaba Masaba has cameos by Gajraj Rao, Kiara Advani, Farah Khan, Shibani Dandekar, Pooja Bedi and others.

Aashram: MX Player | 28th August 2020

Bobby Deol's Aashram on MX Player revolves around a self-proclaimed spiritual leader Kashipurwale Baba Nirala whose devotees are snowballing every day at an unnatural pace. While devotees believe him blindly, his ulterior intentions are nothing but lethal. Exploiting people for wealth and murdering young girls, the aashram has dark secrets hidden. The 9 episodes show is directed by Prakash Jha and also stars Aaditi Pohankar, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Darshan Kumaar, Anupriya Goenka, Adhyayan Suman, Tridha Choudhury, Vikram Kochhar, Tushar Pandey, Sachin Shroff, Anuritta K Jha and Rajeev Siddhartha in pivotal roles.
