Days after The Kissing Booth 2 premiered on Netflix, the makers of the teen romance franchise announced the third film. Featuring Joey King, Joel Courtney, Jacob Elordi, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Meganne Young and Molly Ringwald, The Kissing Booth 3 was shot along with the sequel and is said to be in post-production currently. It is expected to arrive on Netflix by 2021. Talking about the film, Courtney, during a live session with the cast of the franchise, said keeping the news of the third edition a secret was 'hard' .
"We filmed two and three at the exact same time. It was the hardest secret to keep," Courtney said. Netflix, on social media platforms, shared, "It's official! The Kissing Booth 3 is coming in 2021"
The franchise-The Kissing Booth revolves around Elle, a teenager whose romance with Noah puts her lifelong friendship with Noah's younger brother, Lee, at risk. The sequel picked up 27 days later from where the first one ended with Elle and Noah confessing their love for each other. The first film came out in May 2018 and was based on Beth Reekles self-published coming-of-age novel. The film, directed and adapted by Vince Marcello was one of Netflix' most rewatched films in 2018 despited negative reviews from critics. Vince Marcello will be directing The Kissing Booth 3, which he wrote with Jay Arnold.
