Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, a number of Bollywood theatrical films are taking the OTT route. After Amitabh Bachchan's and Ayushmann Khurrana's Gulabo Sitabo, Vidya Balan's Shakuntala Devi and Sushant Singh Rajput's Dil Bechara, films like Laxmmi Bomb, Bhuj: The Pride Of India, The Big Bull and Sadak 2 are getting direct-to-web opening. Making a formal announcement during Disney+Hotstar's live event this evening, Alia Bhatt unveiled the poster of Sadak 2.
Directed by Mahesh Bhatt, Sadak 2 also features Aditya Roy Kapur, Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles. Stating the reason behind placing the Kailash Parvat in the film's poster, Alia said it plays a significant role in the narrative. Without revealing much about her character, the actress assured it will be an exciting ride for the viewers.
Sadak 2 will see Mahesh direct his two daughters Alia and Pooja. This is the first time that Alia is collaborating with her father and sister. Sadak 2 also stars Jisshu Sengupta, Priyanka Bose and Akshay Anand. It is a sequel to the hit 1991 film Sadak, a romantic thriller, which featured Pooja and Sanjay. While sharing the poster of Sadak 2, Alia who was very excited said, “This movie is a homecoming in true sense. It’s the continuation of the first film." She also revealed that Kailash Parvat plays a significant role in the film.
In the poster, as there are no characters shown she narrated a quote of her father Mahesh Bhatt revealing the reason behind it. She read out, “Mount Kailash - the ageless mountain has the footprints of gods and sages. It is the abode of the god of all gods - Lord Shiva. Do we really need anything else or actors in that sacred space? Since the beginning of time, humanity found its shelter in Kailash. This is the place where all search ends. Sadak 2 is the road to love.“
