Anushka Sharma, after establishing herself as a phenomenal performer, donned the hat of a producer. The actress, along with her brother Karnesh Sharma started their own production house named Clean Slate Films. Under their home banner, the siblings bankrolled content-driven and commercially successful projects like NH10, Phillauri and Pari. Now, taking the legacy of good ventures forward, Anushka is all set to take the web space by storm with her upcoming series on Amazon Prime Video. Titled Paatal Lok, the web series will release on May 15 and stars Neeraj Kabi, Gul Panag and Jaideep Ahlawat in the lead roles.
Anushka, two days after sharing the teaser of Paatal Lok, released yet another promo that unveiled the title. Coupled with a foreboding narration, the video casts a spotlight on the darker side of humanity. Filled with mystique, thrill and drama, Paatal Lok explores the dark bylanes of immorality. Inspired by the ancient realms of Swargalok (heaven), Dharti Lok (earth), and Paatal Lok (netherworld), the neo-noir series delves into the interplay within the four estates of democracy.
Paatal Lok, produced by Anushka's and Karnesh's Clean Slate Films, will be directed by Sudip Sharma. The web series is said to feature Abhishek Banerjee, Jagjeet Sandhu and Swastika Mukherjee.
