Ever since Sacred Games 2 was announced, Netflix has been keeping its audience on the edge of their seat with grippy and interesting promos and pre-release snippets that hint at what the story is going to like. The digital platform, on Monday, dropped yet another promo followed by the second one on Tuesday that focuses primarily on Ganesh Gaitonde aka Nawazuddin Siddiqui's characteristics. In the second promo unveiled, we can see Jojo Mascarenas aka Surveen Chawla sharing the screen with Nawazuddin. The short promo drops in a hint that there is more to the story than the audience can predict and imagined.
In the promo, we can see Jojo, who was killed in the first season, in conversation with Gaitonde. This clip indicates the journey from Gaitonde's and Jojo's first phone call chat to the one where they are bonding with each other. In the first season, we could see Jojo's character for a shorter period of time, leaving us curious to find out her relationship with Gaitonde. Based on author Vikram Chandra's best-selling novel, the first season of Sacred Games received viewer appreciation and critical acclaim worldwide for its gritty plot and power-packed performances. The second season of the popular show will be back with a new trail of betrayal, crime, passion and a thrilling chase through Mumbai's underbelly featuring Saif Ali Khan as Sartaj Singh and Nawazuddin as Ganesh Gaitonde. While the intriguing Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi), introduced in season one as Gaitonde's 'third father', will play a pivotal role in unfolding a chain of events. Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Ghaywan have directed the new season. The new season will see fresh additions to the series including Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey. Sacred Games 2 goes on air on August 15, 2019.
