Comedian Vir Das is ready for his upcoming project Hasmukh, a dark comedy in which he will be seen playing a stand-up comedian by the day and a serial killer by night.

This is the first time Vir will be exploring such a dark character and fans will also get to see the star in his element, complete with a drastic change in his look to match the character. Rather than going for a mean and scary appearance, Vir will be seen ditching his cool urban image and Hasmukh is in fact very rural.

Speaking about it, Vir said, “Hasmukh has been new for me in every possible way. It’s a character I have never dabbled with and also the writing process was drastically different, given I have previously not written comedy in Hindi. Plus this look, the character is very hinterland and not something the audience has seen me do before. So I’m excited because as an actor I like the idea of doing something new and taking on new challenges. And Hasmukh gave me exactly the opportunity for that.”

Vir became an internationally acclaimed stand-up artist when he became the only Indian artist to have a second original special on Netflix Losing It. The actor-writer has been working on multiple scripts under his banner Weirdass, a comedy collective.
