"After Lust Stories, Manisha Ji is getting lots of web-series offers. One of the many she has tremendously liked is the Indian adaptation of Eyewitness backed by Applause Entertainment. She has okay-ed the project and will soon sign on the dotted line," the source said adding that Manisha will be seen playing an investigator officer in the show.

"She is stirred about this project as she has never played a detective's character in her whole career", the source added.

Eyewitness is a bone thrilling ride that exposes the details of a ghastly crime and explores it from the point of view of the eyewitness. It follows a horrific crime story through the eyes of two innocent teenage boys, who witness a shooting when they secretly meet up in the forest. The boys who barely escape with their lives remain silent in fear of being caught by the culprits and also to keep their relationship a secret.

Eyewitness will be the third International show/drama series that Applause Entertainment is adapting into the Hindi context, after announcing the Indian adaptations of a sitcom called The Office and a series titled Criminal Justice. The content and IP creation studio is reportedly planning to invest around Rs 100-150 crore per year for web content. They already have about eight web shows in production, with as many as ten more shows awaiting the announcement in next three months.
