Lyca Productions has lit up the fag end of 2022 with a banger of an announcement. The production house as promised unveiled the release date of the second part of Mani Ratnam’s film Ponniyin Selvan 2 or PS-2. The production house took to social media to unveil a teaser and share the release date of the film. It will hit theatres on April 28, 2023.
The new teaser shows the words, “The Cholas are back,” and gives a glimpse of Aditya Karikalan (Vikram), Arulmozhi Varman (Jayam Ravi), and Vandhiyathevan (Karthi). Karikalan is seen in sitting in a somewhat angry mood while Arulmozhi can be seen walking among monks. Vandhiyathevan is seen embarking on another adventure while we also get to see Aishwarya as Nandini in front of a mirror.

Ponniyin Selvan 2 will bring the story based on Kalki Krishnamoorthy’s famous novel to a close. The novel series was written 70 years ago and tells a fictionalized story of Raja Raja Chola and his ascension to the throne. It will also reveal the truth behind Nandini’s origin and will unravel the mystery behind Oomai Rani, a character also played by Aishwarya in the previous part.
PS 2 stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Vikram, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Kishore, and Sarathkumar. The movie has music by AR Rahman and cinematography by Ravi Varman.
