In July, Samantha Akkineni dropped her surname from all her social media accounts and changed it to only 'S'. This change triggered off a rumour that all is not well between Samantha and her husband Naga Chaitanya. The actress was targetted by trolls but she chose to maintain a dignified silence. Amid rumours of trouble in her paradise, Samantha spoke to an entertainment portal about her decision to drop her surname from all social media accounts.
Samantha said that she doesn't believe in reacting to trolls. The actress added that she'll speak about an issue only if she wants to and that too at the right time. "The thing is, even with trolling for The Family Man or this, I don’t react to them. That is how I have always been. I don’t react to this kind of noise and I don’t intend on doing so as well. Everybody wanted me to react to The Family Man issue. There were like 65000 tweets hammering me. I just thought no. I will speak when I have to speak and when I feel like saying something. I will not be bulldozed into saying something," Samantha told.
Famously known as ChaySam, the actors tied the knot in 2017. They fell in love with each other on the set of their Telugu romantic drama Ye Maaya Chesave. After that, Samantha and Chaitanya did films like Manam, Autonagar Surya and Majili.
Samantha recently wrapped the shoot of her upcoming film Shaakuntalam. Fans are speculating that Samantha changed her name to S on social media for the film directed by Gunasekar. Chaitanya wrapped the shoot of his Bollywood debut- Laal Singh Chaddha co-starring Aamir Khan.
