'Maari' actor Chelladurai passes away due to cardiac arrest at 84

Senior Tamil actor RSG Chelladurai passed away on Thursday evening at his residence in Chennai’s Periyar Nagar. He was 84 years old. RSG Chelladurai was one of the promising supporting actors in the Tamil film industry. 

Chelladurai, who was predominantly seen in father and grandfather roles, was reportedly found unconscious in the bathroom. The statement said that he died of a cardiac arrest.

Even though Chelladurai had acted in several films, his roles in Maari, Theri and Kaththi found a special place in everyone's hearts. He had worked in over 50 films.

Chelladurai's funeral service was held at CSI St James church on Friday at 2 pm.
