Tamil TV serial actor Selvarathinam hacked to death over extramarital affair: Reports

According to reports of a leading publication, Tamil TV serial actor Selvarathinam was hacked to death in Chennai on November 15. The actor who was seen with the main antagonist in the show Thenmozhi BA, aired on Vijay TV, was killed by a group of men when he reportedly left home after receiving a call. 

As per reports, Selvarathinam, a Sri Lankan refugee, stayed at home on November 14 and didn't go for the shoot. He was with his friend Mani, who is said to be an assistant director. It is being said that Selvarathinam received a call during the wee hours of November 15 after which he left. Reportedly, the actor's roommate received information about his death. The incident took place near Anna Nedumpathai.

Reportedly, Mani immediately informed the police who rushed to the spot. The police registered a case and sent his body for postmortem. According to a leading daily's report, the police checked the CCTV footage that saw four men moving around the murder spot suspiciously. It is reported that they had a brief argument with Selvarathinam before hacking him to death. The police, on the basis of the CCTV footage, identified one person as Vijayakumar. Reportedly, Selvarathinam was in an illicit relationship with Vijayakumar's wife. Angered by their extramarital affair, Vijayakumar reportedly murdered Selvarathinam.

Selvarathinam is survived by his wife and children who are in Virudhunagar.
