Ever since Prabhas' next with Mahanati director Nag Ashwin was announced, rumours regarding the lead actress are rife. Certain reports did the rounds that Deepika Padukone, who was Ashwin's first choice for his National Award-winning film which was then made with Keerthy Suresh, was in talks for the yet-to-be-titled Telugu project. Then, weeks later, the buzz had it that the makers are in talks with Katrina Kaif too. While none of these actresses have confirmed the rumour, new speculations hint that Alia Bhatt is also being considered as Prabhas' leading lady.
According to reports, post the lockdown is lifted, Nag Ashwin plans to meet the Brahmastra actress and sit for the script narration with her. If everything falls in place, this film with Prabhas will mark her second South outing after SS Rajamouli's period drama RRR with Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn and Jr. NTR.

The Nag Ashwin film starring Prabhas is said to be a science fiction thriller and will orbit around time travel. As per reports, the Bahubali actor will play the role of a superhero. The pan-world film will be financed by C. Ashwini Dutt of Vyjayanthi Entertainments. The film was scheduled to go on floors this year but due to the lockdown, there might be a delay.
Workwise, Prabhas is currently shooting for a yet-to-be-titled film along with Jaan starring Pooja Hegde. On the other hand, Alia has Brahmastra, Sadak 2, RRR, Gangubai Kathiawadi and Takht in the lineup.
