'The team was wondering whether Ajay Devgn is a star or some other human being,' says SS Rajamouli about his 'RRR' actor's simplicity

S S Rajamouli took us all by surprise by unveiling the highly thrilling, intense and powerful motion poster and logo of his upcoming period drama RRR aka Rise Roar Revolt. After taking us into the Kingdom of Mahishmati with Bahubali, Rajamouli will present the tale of two freedom fighters from the ancient period in RRR. Starring the biggest names of South and Hindi film industry, like Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, the film is the current talk of the town. While the shooting of the film has come to a standstill due to Coronavirus shutdown, Rajamouli, in an interview, spoke about working with Ajay for the first time. The filmmaker, just like his fans, was spellbound by the actor’s dedication. During the interview, narrated an incident from the last day of Ajay’s shoot on RRR.

Rajamouli told that the said shoot schedule was a hectic one and the team was skeptical whether they will wrap it on time. He added that when he was talking to his team in Telugu, Ajay heard him say ‘without a break’. Rajamouli further told that Ajay approached him and said he doesn’t need a break either. Asking for a quick lunch gap, the Singham actor sat under a tree and was back on his toes. "He sat under a tree and ate. He said just give me two minutes to eat. The entire team was wondering whether it's Ajay the star or some other human has come here," Rajamouli told.

In addition to this, the Bahubali director showered praise on Ajay by calling him an honest actor. He also revealed the reason behind working with Ajay. "There is an incredible amount of honesty in his face. Whenever he says something, whether it is on-screen off-screen, you believe it. When it comes straight from the heart, those sentences aren't meddled in the brain and it comes straight from the heart, and you can feel it. And that's why I wanted him," the filmmaker added.

RRR will release on January 8, 2021.
