Storyline

Peddi (Ram Charan) is a sought-after cricketer from Vizianagaram playing for different teams in exchange for money. Whenever a crucial match takes place between Vizianagaram and Bobbili, securing Peddi's participation becomes the top priority, as his presence tilts the game in favour of his team. Away from the cricket field, Peddi belongs to a forgotten settlement that has been neglected by the system for years. Despite being home to nearly 1,500 residents, the village lacks an official identity, basic civic facilities and even voting rights. Standing beside him through this journey is Achiyyamma (Janhvi Kapoor), a strong-willed woman who becomes an important part of his life and aspirations. At the same time, Rambujji (Divyenndu) emerges as a significant presence in Peddi's world, influencing key developments in the narrative. As the struggle for recognition intensifies, cricket becomes more than just a sport. For Peddi, it turns into a powerful weapon to fight for dignity, justice and a rightful place on the map for his people. What begins as a sporting challenge gradually evolves into an emotional battle for identity and survival.

Direction

Buchi Babu Sana delivers his most ambitious work yet with ‘Peddi’. The director strikes an impressive balance between large-scale spectacle and emotional storytelling, ensuring that the film never loses sight of its core themes. While the sports sequences are mounted on a grand scale, the emotional moments are handled with equal sensitivity. Sana succeeds in creating a narrative that feels both intimate and epic, allowing audiences to connect with the characters while enjoying a full-fledged theatrical experience. His command over the film’s emotional highs and mass moments is particularly noteworthy, resulting in several crowd-pleasing sequences that are sure to resonate with audiences.

Performance

Ram Charan delivers one of the finest performances of his career, completely immersing himself in the character. His intensity, vulnerability and screen presence make ‘Peddi’ unforgettable. Janhvi Kapoor looks glamorous and beautiful, but her contribution goes far beyond appearances. Her seamless expressions and sincere performance add emotional depth to the narrative. Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyendu Sharma provide solid support and strengthen the film's dramatic impact.

Dialogues

The dialogues by Buchi Babu Sana, Krushna Hari, Nagendra Kasi and Vara Prakash Toleti consistently elevate the film's emotional moments. The writing team keeps the narrative engaging throughout.

Music

The songs blend naturally with the story, while the lyrics enhance the emotional journey. Bosco Martis' choreography adds energy and visual appeal to the musical sequences.

Overall

‘Peddi’ is a powerful blend of emotion, sports and commercial entertainment. Driven by Ram Charan's outstanding performance and Buchi Babu Sana's confident direction, the film delivers an inspiring and thoroughly engaging theatrical experience.
