Storyline

'120 Bahadur' is a film that isn’t just seen, it’s felt. Set against the backdrop of the 1962 India-China war, this story brings to life on the big screen the immortal saga of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati and his 120 brave soldiers. These soldiers, stationed on the snowy peaks of Rezang La, are not just a contingent of troops, but stand as the shield of the nation. The film begins in October 1962, when the Chinese army begins advancing towards Ladakh. The airstrip in the Chushul sector is strategically crucial for both countries. Major Shaitan Singh Bhati (Farhan Akhtar) realizes that if Chushul is lost, all of Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir could be in danger. On November 1, when they saw over 3,000 Chinese soldiers approaching Rezang La, headquarters ordered them to retreat. But Major Shaitan Singh and his 120 brave men make it clear retreat is not an option. What happens next forms the heart of this film.

Performance

Farhan Akhtar delivers such a powerful and sensitive performance as Major Shaitan Singh that his name will now be remembered alongside every great war-based film. The pain in his eyes, the determination on his face, and the impact of every dialogue resonate deeply. Raashii Khanna perfectly embodies her role with complete sincerity, while Ankit Siwach's role, though small, is impactful.

Direction

Razneesh Ghai has made '120 Bahadur' not just a film, but a tribute. He has portrayed every sacrifice, every emotion, and every soldier's resolve with utmost sensitivity and depth. The war sequences are realistic and never overdramatic.

Dialogues

The film's biggest weapon is its dialogues. "Ahir hai hum, koi pyar se maangega to jaan bhi denge, aur jo baat desh pe aayi to 100 ki jaan le lenge" This line will make every Indian sitting in the theater feel both a shiver and a sense of pride. Farhan has many other dialogues that bring tears to the eyes.

Music

Javed Akhtar has once again proven why he is an "OG." The songs not only reinforce the film's atmosphere but also give a melodious voice to the pain and pride of those sacrifices. The music is so soulful that it lingers in the heart long after the film ends.

Overall

'120 Bahadur' is a film every Indian should watch. This is not just a story of war, but a story of courage, duty, brotherhood, and patriotism that reminds us of the history we carry on our shoulders.
