Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Movie Review : Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s melodramatic love saga fails to connect

Film: Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat
Cast: Harshvardhan Rane, Sonam Bajwa, Sachin Khedkar, Shad Randhawa
Director: Milap Zaveri
Rating:1.5 Moons

Storyline

'Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat' is an emotional love story that revolves around obsessive love, broken relationships, and a sense of revenge. Arjun (Harshvardhan Rane) and Siya (Sonam Bajwa), two lovers, are separated by circumstances. A misunderstanding shatters their lives, and when they meet years later, anger and pain have replaced love. But as the story progresses, it devolves into an emotional melodrama, filled with screams, shouts, and tears in every scene.

Acting
Harshvardhan and Sonam are both good actors, but their chemistry doesn't gel on screen in this film. The lack of an emotional connection between them is palpable. At times, their performances seem overdramatic, either they're angry or shedding tears. The script also doesn't give actors like Shaad Randhawa and Sachin Khedkar much space. As a result, their work falls short of average.

Direction
Milap Zaveri fails to break out of his old ways. The film features the same clichéd love story, the same drama, and the same exaggerated emotions. It seems as if the director is completely disconnected from the sensibilities of today's audience. The cinematography is also mediocre, with many scenes visually boring and the camerawork lacking in freshness.

Dialogue
Most of the dialogue is so dramatic that it makes you laugh unintentionally. There's neither depth nor truth in the dialogue, it's just a melodrama of a show.

Music
The film's music is decent, with some melodious songs to listen to. However, the film garnered more attention for its Pakistani music connection than for its songs. While the music supports the story's emotions, it doesn't save the film.

Overall
Watch this one at your own risk.
