#GoldenGlobes 2018: Who Knew Black Could Look This Good!

Time’s Up on the Golden Globes red carpet! You normally expect the Golden Globes red-carpet to be filled with poofy, sparkly and risqué gowns, but this year’s Golden Globes took us completely by surprise. A happy one, in fact! We saw a slew of A-listers sashay down in fifty shades of black, to protest against the rampant sexual harassment in the industry. If you thought black was the safest option in the sartorial book, these celebs are here to prove you wrong! Let’s hear it for our favorite A-listers who managed to steal all the possible limelight, even while donning the safest hue in the book.

Angelina Jolie

2017 has been all about the flapper weather. And with Angelina Jolie donning this trend on the Golden Globes red-carpet, it’s safe to say that this trend is here to stay. We can all agree that it’s hard to make flapper and sheer look badass. But, let’s hear it for the Queen of Hollywood Angelina Jolie who can make this Versace outfit look both delicate and daring! She topped this look with diamond studded danglers and voluminous lashes. Extra style points for Miss Jolie who kicked off 2018 with her most stylish foot forward.

Dakota Johnson

The ’50 shades of grey’ leading lady surely knows how to work her sartorial magic. We’ve heard of the phrase 'vision in white', but Dakota was a vision in black. This beautiful damsel, who has been dominating the big-screen, wowed us on the red-carpet, as well. Being the brand ambassador of Gucci, Dakota was seen donning a sparkly Gucci number. The actress worked her red-carpet and after-party look in the same outfit. While the front of the dress meant pure business, the sparkly and flowy back detailing was perfect for the grandeur after party! Werk it, girl!

Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner’s hi-low poofy gown is what our wardrobe needs, pronto! The supermodel arrived with a lot of confidence and a whole lot of ruffles, donning a Giambattista Vali gown. Kimmie's little sister is here to save the day and show us that black is far from boring! If you thought black reminded you of funerals or all-things-conservative, Kendall just proved you wrong!

Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore just gave uber-chic a whole new meaning. Yes, Mandy has been oozing a whole lot of hotness lately. Case in point: This red-carpet appearance! Classy (check) chic (check) dress with pockets (double check). Centre-parted hair in a bun, long red danglers, and bold red lips. What’s not to love?

Eva Longoria

Baby bumps are the hautest new accessory in town. And, we’re more than loving it. If dressing up for the Globes without a bump can be considered a painful task, imagine how tricky dressing a growing baby bump can be! The Desperate Housewives actor made her first high profile appearance post confirming her pregnancy, at the Globes. This mommy-to-be glowed in a cleavage-baring thigh-high slit ensemble.

Tracee Ellis Ross

Let’s hear it for Trace Ellis Ross who knows how to nail a theme to a T. The singer made a powerful statement with her daring and bold outfit choices. Tracee was seen donning a halter neck dress over black jogger pants. If that’s not making a statement, then what is? She completed this look with Marc Jacob satin turban and bold red lips.
