Salman and Sanjay share 'jadoo ki jhappi' at Ambani's Ganpati bash!

It took Lord Ganesh to bring Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt together again. Their reunion took place at Mukesh Ambani's star-studded Ganpati party at his Peddar Road residence Antilla on Friday night. While everybody watched in breathless anticipation, and the media got its cameras ready, Salman and Dutt reached out and hugged each other warmly like long-lost brothers.

The two Bollywood superstars, once close friends, reportedly fell apart over the film industry's high profile business manager Reshma Shetty. She used to once manage both of them. The story goes that Dutt terminated her services first. Salman, who was particularly fond of Reshma then, didn't take kindly to this. And a coldness developed between the two actors over the past few years.

Sources say that after Dutt was released from jail in February 2016, while Salman made no effort to meet his old friend and welcome him back to the fraternity, the two maintained cordial ties over text messages. But unknown to most of Bollywood, Dutt's wife Maanayata and a close friend of Salman's worked feverishly behind the scenes to reunite the two actors.

It might have happened a week earlier when Salman was supposedly the one chosen to launch the trailer of Dutt's comeback film Bhoomi. A thaw had by then reportedly developed in his coldness towards Dutt because he too had got over Reshma earlier this year. But Salman could not make it to the big media event for Bhoomi because the date was reportedly not free for him. And the occasion went by and the moment was lost.

But like he met and made up with Shah Rukh Khan after a long and bitter cold war at Baba Siddique's iftaar party during Ramzan, Salman came face-to-face with Dutt at Ambani's Ganpati party. And old ties were renewed with a long and warm hug.

Dutt, who popularised the jadoo ki jhappi in his Munnabhai films, knows the magic of a hug. He wasn't holding back. Neither was Salman having been down the road once already with SRK.

Peeping Moon learns that the two actors affectionately and familiarly addressed each other as "Bhaijaan" and "Baba" once again. It was a happy moment and was celebrated by all at the party. Lord Ganesh, Remover of Obstacles, can be credited with bringing down the wall between these two macho men of Bollywood.

But, it was not as lucky and sudden and innocent as it seemed. Our sources say their coming face-to-face was brilliantly orchestrated by two people on their cell phones throughout the evening. One was a beaming Maanayata. And the other is Salman's close friend who diplomatically stepped out of the photo frame when the two old friends were hugging.
