According to reports, Gigi Hadid was arrested while vacationing in the Cayman Islands with her friend Leah Nicole McCarthy. She reportedly carried marijuana which was discovered in her luggage during a scan at the airport on July 10. Post the scan, the officials conducted a thorough search of their luggage. The officers then reported marijuana and “utensils used for the consumption of ganja.”

As per the report, Gigi and Leah were arrested by the cops on the grounds of suspicion of the importation of ganja and the importation of utensils used for the consumption of ganja. They were taken to the Prisoner Detention Center and after being processed, they were reportedly released on bail. 

Gigi and Leah appeared before the court on July 12 and were fined $1,000, and managed to avoid a recorded conviction. The former's rep told an international publication, "Gigi was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license. It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island."
