Oppenheimer Trailer: Cillian Murphy, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt and Robert Downey Jr sound the Doomsday Clock in Christopher Nolan’s film

The latest trailer of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer brings to life the very palpable danger that the scientists working on the Manhattan Project already knew about that the atomic bomb that they were building had the capacity to ignite the entire planet’s atmosphere, sounding the Doomsday Clock.

Oppenheimer’s latest trailer focuses on J.Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy), his wife, biologist and botanist Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer (Emily Blunt), Matt Damon who portrays General Leslie Groves Jr., director of the Manhattan Project, and Robert Downey Jr. plays Lewis Strauss, a founding commissioner of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission.

The film also stars Florence Pugh as psychiatrist Jean Tatlock, Benny Safdie plays theoretical physicist Edward Teller, Michael Angarano plays Robert Serber and Josh Hartnett plays pioneering American nuclear scientist Ernest Lawrence. The film also stars Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh, Dane DeHaan, Dylan Arnold, David Krumholtz, Alden Ehrenreich and Matthew Modine.

The film is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin and is produced by Emma Thomas, Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven and Christopher Nolan. Oppenheimer hits theaters on June 21, 2023.
