Singer Chris Brown is being sued for rape in California. His alleged victim has claimed that he drugged her and attacked her on a yacht at rap mogul Diddy’s aka Sean Combs’ Florida home. The woman’s identity is being kept under wrap and identified in court papers only as Jane Doe. The victim is demanding $20 million in damages from the R&B star.
The civil lawsuit was filed on Thursday by a musician and choreographer who said that she was invited by Brown to meet him at Star Island, Florida. She was offered a drink when she boarded the yacht by Brown as they discussed her career. After a second drink, the woman suddenly began to feel disoriented and physically unstable, according to the lawsuit. In the suit she said Brown dragged her to a bedroom, removed her bikini bottoms and had sex with her without consent.
The suit, filed in Los Angeles stated, “The traumatic events that Plaintiff Jane Doe experienced shock the conscience and should horrify all of us. The time has come to send a message to Defendant Chris Brown that enough is enough. Accordingly, Plaintiff Jane Doe brings this complaint seeking justice for herself (and also with the hope it may serve as an example for others) who may now or have in the past found themselves at the mercy of Defendant Chris Brown.” The victim’s lawyers said that she did not report the alleged attack to the police because she was embarrassed.
Brown took to Instagram and wrote, “Whenever I’m releasing music or projects, ‘THEY’ try to pull some real bulls–t," and included a blue cap emoji, which is used as slang for lies.
In the lawsuit, the woman said Brown had called her the day after the incident and told her to take an emergency contraceptive pill to prevent any pregnancy. The filing said that she saw Brown twice after the rape incident and in one of those meetings, he became ‘irate’ after she turned down his invitation to his bedroom.
