The 3rd Danang Asian Film Festival DANAFF 2025 hosted the Red-Carpet World Premiere of the first ever India-Vietnam film “Love in Vietnam” starring Shantanu Maheshwari, Avneet Kaur and Vietnamese star Kha Ngan.
The much-anticipated World Premiere of the historic first-ever India-Vietnam Co-production film “Love in Vietnam” was indeed a bespoke spectacle of grace and grandeur. Hosted at the state-of-the-art Ariyana Convention Centre by the Furama Resorts, Danang on 01st July as part of the 3rd DANAFF 2025, it was a star-studded affair.
The glittering event saw main actors Shantanu Maheshwari and Kha Ngan, Director Rahhat Shah Kazmi, Producers Captain Rahul Bali, Sarvesh Goel, Mohammed Antuley, Sahil Shiekh, and Zeba Sajid Walk the Red Carpet. The gala evening also saw the presence of the Director of DANAFF Ms. Ngo Phuong Lan, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India Ms. T. Ajungla Jamir, Head of Danang Culture, Sports & Tourism Department Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi An, Consul General of Russia Ms. Mizonova M Georgievna, Chairman of Danang Tourism Association Mr. Cao Tri Dung, Chairman Danang Hotel Association Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh among others.
Love in Vietnam is not just another film, it’s a significant milestone in crafting an unforgettable love story set against Vietnam's stunning landscapes, depicting some of the greatest human virtues like love, resilience, commitment, sacrifice and respect.
Written and directed by Rahhat Shah Kazmi tells us, “I’m truly overwhelmed by the love this film has received from the audience. As a musical, we were a bit anxious about how it would resonate with viewers outside India, but love is a universal emotion, and I believe that’s what connected everyone. The response from the media, critics, and the industry here in Vietnam has been deeply heartening.”
This romantic film was officially announced at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in May 2024. Produced by internationally acclaimed curator and filmmaker Captain Rahul Bali along with Omung Kumar, Sarvesh Goel, Mohammad Antuley & Sahil Sheikh this cross-cultural love story boasts of a talented ensemble cast from both the countries that includes Shantanu Maheshwari, Avneet Kaur, Raj Babbar, Gulshan Grover, Farida Jalal, Krisheka Patel and Vietnamese Superstar Kha Ngan.
Lead actor Shantanu Maheshwari said, “‘Love in Vietnam’ is a journey that touched my heart from the very beginning. The film is co-produced by Samten Hills Dalat, Zeba Sajid, Tariq Khan, Pankaj Chauhan, Abhishek Ankur and Nguyen Cao Tung. Supported by Government of India, Government of Vietnam, Vietnam Airlines, Vietravel, Danang Tourism, Furama Resorts, Sun Group, Sovico Group, VFDA, Dragon Distilleries, Group 365, Viet India Travel and Nui Than Tai Hot Springs Park Danang, this emotional love story has been shot in some of the most exotic locations of both Vietnam & India. The film is in association with Alphaa productions co-written by Kritika Rampal and Harbinder sing alonside Rahhat Kazmi.
“Love in Vietnam” will be released in theatres globally later this year.
