‘Time will tell, everything’s always on the table,’ Henry Cavill breaks silence on playing the next James Bond

Hollywood is in a rampant casting and recasting mode where the suspense has been killing. Now, that Tom Holland is pegged to continue playing our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, all eyes are once again back on who will take up the mantle of James Bond from Daniel Craig after he bowed out with his last film No Time To Die. The top most contender and fan favourite is none-other-than Henry Cavill and the actor is even talking about it.

Cavill did go for the role of Bond in 2006, only to be told he should lose weight after a test scene in which he walked out of a shower. Fifteen years later, it looks like Cavill is still interested and has become a fan favourite to take up the role as well. In his conversation with a leading international tabloid, the actor spoke about his dream role but kept calm about it and said, “Time will tell. You don’t know which direction they want to take Bond in and so I like to say that everything’s always on the table.”

However, Cavill already has a full roster with several lucrative projects in his kitty. He is seen in Netflix’s The Witcher 2 which released last Friday and will be seen in Enola Holmes 2.

Craig took over Bond from Pierce Brosnan in Casino Royale in 2006 and has played the role for almost two decades. He has been one of the most popular and successful 007 on screen, with notable names being Brosnan and Sean Connery.
