Daniel Craig receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for portraying James Bond, calls it an honour ‘to be walked all over in Hollywood’

Daniel Craig has been honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Daniel, who hung up his boots as 007 with the latest James Bond film No Time To Die is the 270th celebrity to receive a star on the coveted Walk of Fame. His star is right next to the legendary Bond actor Roger Moore, located at 7007 Hollywood Boulevard. Craig is the fourth James Bond actor to receive the honour after David Niven, Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan. Barry Nelson also played Bond in a TV movie and received a star during his career.

The 53-year-old actor received the star in the company of his No Time To Die co-stars including Rami Malek on Wednesday night. Daniel expressed his gratitude towards the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, along with his studio partners and his team and also thanked the James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson. He thanked them, “from the depths of my heart,' adding, 'without you, I would not be here today.”

Speaking about the honour, Daniel said, “I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but you know, it's an absolute honour to be walked all over in Hollywood. If happiness is measured by the company you keep, Hollywood legends, makes me a very happy man. Thank you very much.”

Rami also spoke at the event and heaped praises on Daniel and said, “If you are lucky enough to play a bad guy, you would better make sure the good guy is legendary. And this good guy is the best.” He further added that while Daniel is, “very generous with his time, he's also a big fan of brevity, so in your honour I promised to make this quick.”

Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame said in a statement, “Daniel Craig is a British cultural icon, as is James Bond, the man he has portrayed in five 007 films. We are thrilled to place his terrazzo Walk of Fame star next to the star of another famed actor who also portrayed James Bond, Roger Moore. Fans will be thrilled when they see that their stars are appropriately located at 7007 Hollywood Boulevard.”

No Time To Die, which was released on September 30 after a long delay due to coronavirus pandemic marks an end of an era for Daniel who has played the suave British spy, James Bond for fifteen years and was instrumental in catapulting him to superstardom. Daniel has starred as 007 in Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre and now No Time To Die. Earlier Daniel was made an honorary commander in the British Navy, the same post as held by James Bond.
