Armie Hammer opts out of Paramount's 'The Offer' amid social media scandal?

The Godfather (1972) is a landmark Hollywood film. The American crime film directed by Francis Ford Coppola is a major inspiration to many filmmakers. In December 2020, it was confirmed that a limited series on the making of The Godfather is the making and Armie Hammer will play Albert S. Ruddy, who produced the classic. Titled The Offer, the Paramount + series will narrate the behind-the-scenes story of the making of the film.

Now, according to reports, Armie has opted out of the series. This news has come weeks after his exit from Shotgun Wedding, a romantic comedy film co-starring Jennifer Lopez. Armie's exit from two projects came after a series of unverified Instagram direct messages supposedly written by him got leaked online. The messages described graphic sexual fantasies, including cannibalism.

Reacting to the claims, Armie had previously told an international publication, "I'm not responding to these bull***t claims, but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot, in good conscience now, leave my children for four months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic."

Amid this, Josh Duhamel has reportedly replaced Armie in Shotgun Wedding
