‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ trailer: Kelly Marie Tran’s character goes on a quest to restore peace in her divided world in Disney’s new animated film

The first trailer for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Raya and the Last Dragon brings a new fantastical world with a female protagonist who is a warrior. The trailer introduces Raya, a young girl who is on the search of the last dragon to restore peace to her divided world. The trailer follows Raya and her armadillo pal TukTuk through a cave with hidden dangers as she tries to gain access past a closed and sealed door.

Raya uses martial arts skills to fight against a mysterious villain who seems to be there to thwart her advance in search of the dragon. The official synopsis of the film reads, “Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.”
