Filming of 'The Batman' temporarily paused after Robert Pattinson tests COVID positive: Reports

After resuming work on The Batman post a six-month delay due to COVID-19, the team had to once again stop activities as a 'member' tested positive for the novel virus. According to an international publication, Robert Pattinson, who is in the titular role, is diagnosed with Coronavirus as shooting recently resumed at a studio near London. The production house, Warner Bros., in a statement, without disclosing the identity, informed that the filming has been temporarily paused.  

"A member of The Batman production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused," the statement read.

The Batman, along with several films, has been delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic and lockdown. The shoot of the superhero film helmed by Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves came to a halt when the outbreak of COVID-19 began wreaking havoc. The Batman was to release in theatres on June 25, 2021, but now, it will reportedly hit the silver screen in October next year.  

Speaking of The Batman, Robert will play the titular role of Batman aka Bruce Wayne while Zoe Kravitz has been cast as Selina Kyle or Catwoman. Andy Serkis is Alfred Pennyworth, Paul Dano is Edward Nashto aka The Riddler and Jeffrey Wright will be seen as Commissioner Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Real and Colin Farrell as The Penguin.
