Free Britney Spears: Diet Prada makes shocking revelations on why the singer is still controlled by her dad; fans sign petition to end her conservatorship

Singer and musician Britney Spears left her 24.9 million Instagram followers concerned and tensed with her posts, many worried that the Toxic singer was in trouble and needed help. Several wrote that she was not behaving ‘normally’ and that someone should do a wellness check on her. The pop icon’s posts got her fans concerned about her mental health, and several social media users began to talk about Britney’s conservatorship, that is the control of Britney’s assets and life choices by her father and lawyer, which they blamed for her erratic social media posts and possible mental health issues. Soon hashtags #SaveBritney and #FreeBritney began to trend on social media. Fans began posting about how they believed Britney was sending them secret messages to rescue her and get her out of her conservatorship.

For those unversed, "Since 2008 Britney Spears has been in a conservatorship that gives her conservator full control over her personal life & finances/estate. Conservatorships are typically used for those that are SEVERELY mentally ill. Since ‘08, she has been on 3 world tours with dangerous flying & fire stunts. It’s safe to say she is sane enough to feed and clothe herself. With this conservatorship, she is unable to properly fight for her freedom as she isn’t legally allowed to hire her own lawyer. We need this petition so that Britney can hire her own lawyer and live a normal life as a 38-year-old woman with two kids," detailed an official petition to the White House calling for Spears's freedom. "She has tried over the years to fight, attempts were shut down. Please look into this case. Every American deserves civil liberties," it added. Over 134,000 concerned Britney fans have now signed a petition asking for Spears to get her own lawyer and finally get out of the agreement.

Conservatorship is a legal concept in the United States. A guardian or a protector is appointed by a judge to manage the financial affairs and/or daily life of another due to physical or mental limitations, or old age. A person under conservatorship is a "conservatee," a term that can refer to an adult.

Soon after her hashtags started trending, Diet Prada, known for ruthlessly calling out plagiarism and fashion copy cats, posted a heartwrenching story claiming what actually happened with Briteny's conservatorship. Diet Prada captioned the post as, "This is heartbreaking Swipe to slide 5 for the shady details on Britney’s conservatorship, which is usually reserved for individuals who are incapacitated. I know some people’s instincts might be to not take this seriously or laugh because the world has made a joke of her existence to a certain extent, but this is a woman who is denied access to her own children, finances, and any control over her own life. The law is corrupt and so are the middle-aged men who are ruining a thriving, successful woman’s life. Britney has a court hearing coming up on July 22nd. Diet Prada exposed Spears's record label for not liking the fact that both her and Aguilera had the same voice as they were about to drop their debut albums and therefore had Spears's voice retrained to make her unique baby voice a brand and significant distinction from Aguilera's. The account also claims Spears's 2006 album Original Doll was shelved when her label realized she would be singing in the acoustic pop album in her real singing voice - thereby also explaining why she isn't allowed to perform live and always takes to lip-syncing.

Refuting the whole mental instability argument put forth by Spears's conservators, the watchdogs keep asking in their Instagram post if someone is as incapacitated and mentally ill, why are they allowed to work continuously? This refers to the four albums, three worldwide tours, a four-year Vegas residency, full-time judge on X-Factor, multiple perfumes and a lingerie line and annual earnings of $138 million or so that Spears has accomplished in the last 12 years since the conservatorship began.

One of the posts wrote all of the things that Britney was forbidden from doing, “Britney Spears is a now 38-year-old woman who is not allowed to do the following without her father's permission or he can legally lock her up in a mental health facility: • drive a can vote • get married • have children • spend HER OWN MONEY • see how her money is being spent • see her children (she has 30% custody of both of her boys due to her dad assaulting one of her sons)• leave her home • hire her own lawyer • have any control over her careen speak about the conservatorship publicly• do interviews that aren’t scripted and all final cuts are approved by her father as well• use a cell phone without being monitored• use social media unmonitored • contact ANYONE without being monitored or having them extremely vetted. (Iggy Azalea allegedly had her house searched for drugs top to bottom when they collaborated on a song together)• go shopping • go for a walk • get Starbucks”.

Although Diet Prada noted the unfortunate truth of how "some people’s instincts might be to not take this seriously or laugh because the world has made a joke of her existence to a certain extent," their expose is meant to more than just inform people of how Spears "is a woman who is denied access to her own children, finances, and any control over her own life." Calling for worldwide support to #FreeBritney, the account informs "Britney has a court hearing coming up on July 22."
