She wants to create and blaze her own path, I'm very proud of her: Dwayne Johnson on daughter Simone signing WWE contract

Dwayne Johnson, better known as The Rock is a proud father. The wrestler turned Hollywood actor can't stop gushing over his daughter Simone Johnson who signed a contract with WWE as a professional wrestler. Talking about his 18-year-old daughter's decision, Dwayne, during a virtual appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, heaped praise on Simone and expressed utmost joy. He went on to reveal that she was preparing for WWE since the time she was 16 and despite injuries and odds, she held her ground well.

"She signed her contract with the WWE and you know it blows my mind. First of all, what an honor that my daughter wants to follow in my footsteps but more importantly, follow in my footsteps sounds cliché, but she actually wants to create and blaze her own path, which is so important. She’s 18 now, at 16 she was working her ass off quietly under the radar, in the ring getting thrown around, you know all the bumps and bruises that go with pro wrestling. But she hung in there, and I'm very very proud of her," Dwayne told.

Simone, on February 10 this year, confirmed joining WWE as a professional wrestler on her Instagram account. "To the little girl who fell in love with wrestling & said “this will be my life one day”, this is for you. I’m humbled, grateful & ready to work. Let’s do this," she wrote while sharing a picture.

Simone, belonging to a family of wrestlers, is the daughter of Dwayne and his ex-wife, Dany Garcia. She will be the first Fourth-Generation Superstar in the history of WWE and has started training at the Performance Center in Florida. Not just her father Dwayne, but her late grandfather Rocky Johnson and her great-grandfather Peter Maivia were also wrestlers and were inducted into the Hall of Fame.
