I get to be the leader: Salma Hayek reveals her character Ajak spearheads ‘The Eternals’

Salma Hayek has given the fans something to talk about other than the COVID 19 lockdown and pandemic. She has revealed new details about her upcoming Marvel superhero film The Eternals. In a recent interview to a portal, she gushed about the fact that at 53-years she is finally getting to play a superhero. The film will feature the actress as Ajak and will lead all the other superheroes.

She said, “At 53, – finally! – I can be a superhero. I play Ajak, who is the leader of the superheroes and all of them are people you would never have imagined. Except for Angelina Jolie. Angelina, she was born to be a superhero!” Speaking about the plot of the films, Salma said that it is about a couple of misfits who have superpowers.

Ajak was created by Jack Kirby and first appeared in 1976. The character possesses a number of abilities and like the rest of The Eternals is immortal and indestructible. Ajax also has superhuman strength and stupendous stamina that does not tire and is adept at manipulating cosmic energy and molecules.

The Eternals has a stellar cast that includes Angelina Jolie, Barry Keoghan, Brian Tyree Henry, Gemma Chan, Kit Harington, Kumail Nanjiani, and Richard Madden. It is re-scheduled to release in February 12, 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
