The first scene opens to the armies taking their mark while they prepare for the war ahead. Melisandre arrives and asks the soldiers to lift their swords, while she chants a mantra and lights them on fire. Ser Davos lets her into the castle when she tells him she’ll be dead before the break of dawn. Wait, what?

The war begins, the Dothrakis charge forward and attack the army of Wights. What’s shocking is the diminishing light, depicting the death of the soldiers, while some retreat back, including Jorah. Danaerys takes this as cue to mount her dragon when Jon stops her by saying, ‘The Night King is coming,’ to which she says, ‘The dead are already here.’ CAN YOU FEEL THE PRESSURE?

The army of the dead swamp the army. Arya sends Sansa to the crypts, hands her a weapon and asks her to ‘stick them with a pointy end’ if need be. Praise be!

Brienne, Jamie, Podrick, Sam, Jorah and Edd are seen fighting on the battlefield. Edd saves Sam fro getting stabbed and gets killed instead. Meanwhile in the crypts, Sansa meets Varys, Tyrion, Missandei and Melisandre.

Jon and Danaerys attack the line of Wights approaching Winterfell. They then decide to search for the Night King directly, but struggle to see clearly as the Night King ignites a snow storm. Meanwhile, being constantly swamped by the army of dead, the soldiers decide to retreat while the Unsullied stand to protect them.

Arya saves the Hound from getting stabbed while the others try to light the trenches and fail constantly because of the storm. At this, Melisandre arrives, chants her mantra and ignites the trenches burning all the wights charging forward and killing them instantly. Hallelujah!

Meanwhile, Sansa and Tyrion argue about how the latter should be on the battlefield. He then tells her they should’ve been married, when Sansa reasons how their loyalties to the Dragon Queen will always have them at loggerheads. To this Missandei chips by saying, ‘That won’t be a problem, because we’ll all be dead.’ Can’t cope!

Theon guards Bran close to the tree. Theon reasons his actions to which Bran says he had to do all the things he did to come to this day. He then becomes an org and has a vision, where he sees the Night King riding Visceryon.

In an attempt to kill the fire, the wights plant themselves in one place to end it and make way for the army to attack Winterfell. Brienne, Podrick, Jamie, Gendry and Sam try to protect the walls, but fail.

Beric, Arya and Ser Davos protect the ground level, while the Hound caves, just when Lady Mormont gets attacked by the Giant Wight. She attacks him but gets captured and almost crushed by him. Almost… cause she then attacks him with dragon-glass and both of them die. Arya still fights the wights, while the Hpund and Ser Davos talk about how they’ll never win against an army that big.

Arya goes inside the castle to protect it, steos into the library but gets surrounded by Wights. She tries to escape and does successfully, when more dead soldiers attack her. The Hound and Beric come to her rescue, when Beric gets stabbed. They secure themselves in a room, where Melisandre is already present. She tell Arya the same thing she told her earlier, ‘Brown eyes, green eyes and blue eyes…’ signifying her role in killing the Wight Walkers and presumably, the Night King. Well, one can only hope!

‘What do you say to the Lord of Death?’ ‘Not today.’ CAN WE HAVE A HELL YEAH?!

On the otherside, Theon and Bran get swamped by the dead while Jon and the Night King fight, while on their dragons. Suddenly, Danaerys attacks the Night King, catching him off guard, which results in him falling from his dragon. Drogon bites Visceryon, which probably kills him. So, is Visceryon dead? WE NEED ANWERS!

The Night King then attacks Rheagon with his glass weapon, which leaves him injured and Jon, dragon-less. At this, Danaerys commands Drogon to light the Night King on fire. But to everyone’s surprise, the Night King stays unharmed. Wait, does this mean that the Night King is a Targaryen? WHAAAAA?!

Now on ground, Jon tries to attack the Night King, not before he commands the dead to rise. Surrounded by the dead soldiers yet again, Jon is seen to be in a spot while the Night King escapes. But, if this wasn’t enough, we learn that the dead arise everywhere. God help us!

The crypts break, Gilly gets captured. Rhaegon gets attacked by the wights and presumably dies. Jorah shields an attack on Danaerys, who’s now on the ground too, while Drogon gets swamped by the dead. But at this, he flees and tries to throw-off all the Wights that are trying to attack him.

Meanwhile, Jon comes back to the Castle and gets attacked by the Wight dragon, Theon tries to protect Bran while Jorah and Danaerys fend for themselves. In the crypts, Sansa and Tyrion pray for their lives while the former gets ready to attack the Wights if it comes down to that.

The Night King arrives to see Bran. The now, three-eyed-raven then tell Theon that he’s a good man. Enraged by his own lack to fulfill his responsibility, Theon charges forward to kill the Night King, but gets stabbed instead. In a series of frames, everyone is shown struggling to win a war they think they have lost. During this, Jorah gets stabbed and is killed. NOOOOOO!

Bran and the Night King come face to face. While this meet-cute goes down, Arya sneakily attacks the Night King, but not fast enough. He captures her and tries to kill her, not before she switched tactics and stabbed him with the dagger from her other hand. And just like that, the army of the dead vanish. GO ARYA!

In the last frame, Melisandre is seen walking out of Winterfell, as she passes all the fallen soldiers. She removes her necklace and walks into the distance, when she hits the ground and dies, disintegrating instantly.
