Good news is in store for the Indian fans of Marvel cinematic universe as well as Priyanka Chopra Jonas because Avengers: Endgame director Joe Russo has confirmed that Marvel is ‘talking to Priyanka Chopra’ for a future project. The exciting revelation was made by Joe at a press conference for the much-anticipated Avengers: Endgame in Mumbai. Joe along with his brother Anthony has directed four Marvel Cinematic Universe films including Avengers: Endgame.
During the press event, Joe was asked whether he would like to work with an Indian actor in the future, to this he replied, “I’d love to work with Priyanka. I’m smiling only because we’re potentially talking to her about something, I’m just not going to say what yet.” Now, isn’t that big news? India is a very big market for the Marvel Universe as was highlighted by Joe at the press event. They have also roped in AR Rahman to compose Indian Anthem for Avengers: Endgame as well in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
India was the first stop on Avengers: Endgame’s global press tour and Joe stressed the fact that the Indian market is highly lucrative and very important for the franchise owners. He said, “India is incredibly important. It’s the fastest growing market in the world for Marvel.” In fact, he said that he felt reenergized and re-inspired after being shown a clip of Indian film audience reacting to a scene from Avengers: Infinity War and wants India to play a more significant role in Marvel’s future plans.
Recalling the clip, he said, “The moment when Thor lands, the cheers sound like it’s a football stadium. Whenever we used to get tired on Endgame, we used to play that (recording) and get re-inspired. To know that audiences here respond to movies that way - respond to these movies, in particular, that way - is why we make them.” Now, that Priyanka is in talks with the directors, we hope she gets to don a superhero suit soon and join the franchise. We’re sure she would look amazing kicking ass in the film.
