Lady Gaga fiercely defends Kesha in emotional and fiery exchange with Dr Luke’s lawyers; social media applauds the singer

Lady Gaga had a fiery verbal exchange with one of Dr. Luke’s lawyers while she was being deposed as part of Kesha’s ongoing legal battle against the producer and she is being lauded for it on social media. A leaked legal transcript revealed that she told the lawyer, “You should be ashamed of yourself” for suggesting that Kesha lied about the sexual assault.

The lawsuit centers around Kesha’s allegation that Lukasz Gottwald popularly known as Dr. Luke of drugging and raping her in 2005 when they were in a professional relationship, a claim that the producer has denied and countered with a defamation lawsuit on the singer. Gaga whose real name is Stefani Germanotta had a fiery but emotional exchange with Christine Lepera, a lawyer for music producer Dr Luke.

Lady Gaga who has supported Kesha to sever ties with the producer gave a fiery response when questioned by his lawyers and said, “Why on earth would this girl tell the entire world that this happened? Do you know what it's like for survivors? Do you know what it's like to tell people? Don't you roll your eyes at me. You should be ashamed of yourself."

The deposition transcript published on a portal showed that the questioning stopped after the fiery exchange and that is when Lady Gaga's attorney requested a break citing that Lady Gaga was experiencing PTSD reactions from her own sexual assault. She was asked how she met Kesha and came to know about the singer’s relationship with Dr. Luke, to this she said, “Kesha told me that he used power and manipulation in some fashion or some type of verbiage. I am not repeating exactly the words that came out of her mouth, but that he used power and manipulation to control her, and that she had been given a happy pill, that he offered her something and that she took it, and that she woke up and didn't remember, and that's what she told me."

She also described that at one instance she saw Kesha wearing only her underwear in Dr. Luke’s studio. She said, “What we discussed was, what I recall was her immense sadness and depression and fear. She was visibly very different than when I had seen her before, and -- but I can't say specifically what we spoke about. I just recall it was emotional and I wanted to be there for her."

Lady Gaga when questioned by attorney Christine Lepera whether she had any “Factual knowledge” about whether Kesha was raped or not, she gave a fitting reply and said, “Oh, I have factual knowledge of her depression. I have factual knowledge of her need for support and love. I have factual knowledge of the spiral that I watched that girl go down. I have factual knowledge of trauma. I am informed and intelligent about this issue. That girl has experienced serious trauma and she is in the middle of it right now. And you are all a party to it."

Kesha and Dr.Luke have been embroiled in a long legal dispute because the singer wants to sever ties with the producer. The pair began working together in 2005 when Kesha was signed to Dr Luke's label Kemosabe Records, owned by Sony Music. In 2014, Kesha had filed a lawsuit against the producer. A judge dismissed her abuse claims in 2016 but the legal fallout is continuing between the pair as she is still contractually bound to Dr Luke’s record company.
